Welcome to our new look. 2009 was a very difficult year for law enforcement agencies as they struggled with their operating budgets. Many saw there units disband with those mounted officers returning to patrol divisions filling vacancies left from officers who were laid off.  2010 looks to be just as difficult for law enforcement financially. For those agencies that have been fortunate enough to have their units still in operation and for those units that are volunteer operations, now is the time to look OUTSIDE THE BOX.

May be you need to re- identify the purpose of your unit, Is deployment always constant? Is deployment based on intelligent policing? How many shifts are there per day? Do you have any measure of community satisfaction specific to your unit? Do you support law enforcement operations or are you a community policing operation?
